  title={Collective correlations, dynamics and behavioural inconsistencies of the cryptocurrency market over time},
  author={Nick James and Max Menzies},
This paper introduces new methods to study behaviours among the 52 largest cryptocurrencies between 01-01-2019 and 30-06-2021. First, we explore evolutionary correlation behaviours and apply a recently proposed turning point algorithm to identify regimes in market correlation. Next, we inspect the relationship between collective dynamics and the cryptocurrency market size revealing an inverse relationship between the size of the market and the strength of collective dynamics. We then explore… Expand

Abstract We study the dynamics of volatility spillover across four major cryptocurrency returns namely Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple and Litecoin from 15 − 08 − 2015 to 18 − 01 − 2018 . In the firstExpand
Financial Return Distributions: Past, Present, and COVID-19
It is suggested that some other short-term processes related to a current market situation alter market dynamics and may mask this scenario and two factors—speed of the market time flow and the asset cross-correlation magnitude—while related, act in opposite directions with regard to the return distribution tails, which can affect the expected distribution convergence to the normal distribution.
