The Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP) has a long history of collecting annual global data on state-based armed conflict.2 Since 2002, the project has expanded to include fatality estimates for all conflicts and additional information about non-state conflict (conflict between two groups, neither of which is the government of a state), and one-sided violence (the unilateral use of force against civilians).
