  • Entrepreneurial activity in the U.S. collapsed prior to and during the Great Recession. This collapse was signicant in terms of both new rm formation and entrepreneurial employment, and it coincided with a historic decline in home values that preceded the onset of the broad recession by at least nine months. I construct a heterogeneous agent DSGE model with both housing and entrepreneurship. The model is characterized by nancial frictions that aect
