The evolution from 3rd to 4th generation synchrotron radiation (SR) sources significantly enhanced their coherence, making coherent scattering techniques such as coherent X-ray diffraction imaging (CXDI) and X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy (XPCS) more accessible.
