INTRODUCTION A major diagnostic challenge in the evaluation of a cavitary lung lesion is to distinguish between infectious and malignant etiologies. CASE PRESENTATION We present the case of an elderly man presenting with fever, hemoptysis and a left upper lobe cavitary lesion.
