The absorption of cocaine from the nasal mucosa was measured by serial plasma analysis in patients who received nasal cocaine for routine nasal surgery using the modified Moffett's method. Two groups were compared: one received cocaine alone and one with adrenaline 1:1000 added. Changes in pulse rate and blood pressure were recorded in each group.
