Coal Washery Waste Water Treatment using Natural Coagulants and Chemical Precipitation

  title={Coal Washery Waste Water Treatment using Natural Coagulants and Chemical Precipitation},
  author={Thawari Dharavi Babarao and S. Verma},
During the washing and beneficiation of coal or any minerals, particulates become suspended in waste water. Before reuse of these discharged waters, suspended particulates and various contaminants must be removed from this effluent. Coal washery consume huge amount of water and hence generates huge amount of waste water. If this water is directly discharged into streams, it will cause environmental pollution. Coal washery effluents contain high amount of suspended particles, has high turbidity… Expand

Characterisation of coal washery effluent and optimisation of coagulation behaviour of Moringa oleifera seed as a coagulant
This study deals with detailed characterisation of coal washery effluent and fine particles present in it and the suitability of biocoag-flocculation process using Moringa oleifera seed biomass as a natural coagulant was examined for efficient removal of impurities. Expand
Revolutionary technique for sustainable plant-based green coagulants in industrial wastewater treatment—A review
Abstract Chemical coagulants have been extensively used in wastewater treatment from industrial processes due to their removal efficiencies. Notwithstanding, recent studies have reported concernsExpand
Use of natural coagulants for industrial wastewater treatment.
Industrial effluents are a menace to the environment and the fact that their characteristics vary from industry-to-industry only adds to the complex challenge they offer to the engineers andExpand

Utilization of waste material : pumpkin seed waste , as an efficient adsorbent for the removal of metal cutting fluids from aqueous medium / industrial waste water
Water emulsified metal cutting fluids such as mineral, synthetic, semi-synthetic are widely used as a coolant, protect work pieces and tool beds from rusting in machining operations. These fluidsExpand
Clarification of colliery effluents using modified starch and synthetic polymer
During mining and beneficiation of many minerals, including energy minerals, particulates become suspended in wastewaters. Often associated with these particles are organic and inorganic traceExpand
