This study tested three hypotheses: (1) that there is clustering of the neuronal cytoplasmic inclusions (NCI), astrocytic plaques (AP) and ballooned neurons (BN) in corticobasal degeneration (CBD), (2) that the clusters of NCI and BN are not spatially correlated, and (3) that the lesions are correlated with disease ‘stage’.
