An 8-kb region downstream of the ketosteroid dehydrogenase (ksdD)-ketosteroid isomerase (ksdI) genes of Arthrobacter simplex was cloned. The nucleotide sequence of the first 3-kb segment downstream of ksdD-ksdI operon was determined. Three open reading frames (ORFs) preceded by Shine-Dalgarno (SD) sequences have been found.
