The transformation optics approach to cloaking uses a singu lar change of coordinates, which blows up a point to the region being cloaked. Thi s paper examines a natural regularization, obtained by (i) blowing up a ball o f radiusρ rather than a point, and (ii) including a well-chosen lossy layer at the i nner edge of the cloak.
