The phenomenon of so-called second position clitics has received considerable attention in the linguistic literature, and some proposed analyses of the phenomenon have suggested major architectural changes to linguistic theories. In this paper, we look at second position clitics in New-Shtokavian, their syntactic and prosodic properties, and propose a purely syntactic clitic placement analysis.
