Work induced stress led to decreased cholesterol and fluctuating triglyceride levels in gastrocnemius and pectoralis muscles in rats. But the drug (clenbuterol, 2 mg kg(-1) day(-1)) treatment increased cholesterol and triglyceride levels in both the muscles. However, heart showed decreased cholesterol and increased triglyceride level in the animals under work stress, but at the same time drug treatment led to a significant increase in levels of the two lipid fractions, inferring towards… Expand
Clenbuterol Attenuates Work Stress Induced Degeneration in Rat Skeletal Muscle and Its Inhibition by Butoxamine
Clenbuterol is known to have therapeutic potential in ameliorating muscle atrophy because of its presumed anabolic effects. However, little is known about its effects on lipids under normal andExpand
Lipid profile changes in mouse gastrocnemius muscle after denervation and beta-adrenoceptor stimulation.
TLDR
The treatment of denervated mice with beta-agonist isoproterenol does not inhibit the increased lipid biosynthesis induced by the loss of neural supply to gastrocnemius muscle, but it maintains significantly low levels of lipids as compared to untreated denervate mice. Expand
Isoproterenol hydrochloride augments collagen proliferation and ATPase activity in mice soleus and EDL muscles.
TLDR
It is concluded that growth stimulatory effect of isoproterenol hydrochloride is more prominent in soleus than FDL muscle and might lead to an enhancement of contractile performance. Expand
