Redistribution of cytosolic free Ca2+ following Ca2+ influx into the cytoplasm was studied in single smooth muscle cells isolated from guinea-pig urinary bladder. Voltage-clamped cells were loaded with a low-affinity fluorophore Indo-1FF.
