This demonstration shows CityViewAR, a mobile outdoor Augmented Reality (AR) application for providing AR information visualization on a city scale. The CityViewAR application was developed to provide geographical information about the city of Christchurch, which was hit by several major earthquakes in 2010 and 2011. The application provides information about destroyed buildings and historical sites that were affected by the earthquakes. The geo-located content is provided in a number of…
Augmented-Reality Survey: from Concept to Application
The descriptions of a variety of the new AR explorations are presented, and the issues that are relevant to the contemporary development of the fundamental technologies and applications are discussed.
Augmented Reality: A Review of Applications
This paper surveys the field of Augmented Reality, in which 3-D virtual objects square measure integrated into a 3-D real setting in real time. It describes the medical, manufacturing, visualization,
Towards assembly steps recognition in augmented reality
This paper proposes to use the transformation matrix not only for objects pose estimation, but also to characterise their motion during an assembly task, to achieve the required registration step of the augmented reality process and understand the actions performed by the user.
(Towards an interactive mobile augmented reality system for industrial maintenance scenario supervision)
The goal is to design an augmented reality system which will provide automatically and in real time maintenance instructions to the user and control, through the mobile devices, the maintenance task achievement and identify the mistakes done by the operator.
Layered information overlay on telexistence using augmented reality techniques
TELESAR V is introduced which maps a user spinal1, neck, head and arm movements into a dexterous slave robot and allowing the operator to feel the robot body as his own body through visual, auditory, kinesthetic and fingertip tactile sensation.
Study on Telexistence LXXVIII Layered Information Overlay on Telexistence using Augmented Reality Techniques
The implementation of the image based AR posters, frame templates in ubiquitous telexistence robots has been discussed and the effectiveness of layered information is evaluated through a set of experiments.
