We report the first experiential observation and theoretical analysis of the new phenomenon of planar chiral circular conversion dichroism , which in some aspects resembles the Faraday effect in magnetized media, but does not require the presence of a magnetic field for its observation. It results from the interaction of an electromagnetic wave with a planar chiral structure patterned on the sub-wavelength scale, and manifests itself in asymmetric transmission of circularly polarized waves in the…

Asymmetric transmission for dual-circularly and linearly polarized waves based on a chiral metasurface.

A chiral metasurface (CMS) that exhibits asymmetric transmission (AT) of double circularly and linearly polarized waves at the same frequency band is proposed and a Z-shaped chiral micro-structure and a grating-like micro-Structure are proposed and designed to achieve AT.

Strong circular dichroism in chiral plasmonic metasurfaces optimized by micro-genetic algorithm.

This work provides a universal design method toward the on-demand properties of chiral metasurfaces, which paves the way for future applications in chemical and biological sensing, chiral imaging and spectroscopy.

Asymmetric chiroptical effect from chiral medium filled golden slit grating on substrate.

A giant and robust asymmetric chiroptical effect (ACOE) in the chiral medium filled golden slit grating on glass substrate (CMGSG-GS) gives a measurable physical parameter to reveal the events happening at interface.

In this letter, we propose a structure based on double-layer graphene-based planar chiral metasurface with a J-shaped pattern to generate asymmetric transmission for circularly polarized waves in the

Asymmetric transmission of linearly polarized waves based on Mie resonance in all-dielectric terahertz metamaterials.

An all-silicon metamaterial with straightforward design has promising applications in polarization control scenarios and the AT effect for linearly polarized electromagnetic waves in the terahertz regime.

Correlation of circular differential optical absorption with geometric chirality in plasmonic meta-atoms.

We report a strong correlation between the calculated broadband circular differential optical absorption (CDOA) and the geometric chirality of plasmonic meta-atoms with two-dimensional chirality. We
