Miniature wireless sensors with long lifetimes enable new applications for medical diagnosis, infrastructure monitoring, military surveillance, and environmental sensing among many other applications in a growing field. Sensor miniaturization leads to decreased on-sensor energy capacity, and lifetime requirements further constrain the sensor's power budget.
