We investigated the chymotrypsin-promoted hydrolysis of a series of chromium(III)-insulin complexes containing chelating or macrocyclic ligands. It has been shown that Cr(III) stabilizes insulin against the chymotrypsin-promoted hydrolysis of the protein.
