Tibialis anterior tendon tear is an uncommon injury. Nontraumatic or degenerative tears are usually seen in the avascular zone of the tendon. Treatment can be conservative or surgical. Conservative treatment is adequate for low-demand older patients. For active patients, surgical treatment can be challenging for the surgeon because after debridement of degenerative tissue, a gap may be formed that can make side-to-side suture impossible. The authors present allograft Achilles tendon insertion…
Allograft Reconstruction of Chronic Tibialis Anterior Tendon Ruptures
TLDR
Allograft reconstruction of chronic irreparable tibialis anterior tendon ruptures yielded satisfactory strength, pain, and patient-reported functional outcomes, and this technique offers a safe and reliable alternative without the donor site morbidity associated with tendon transfer or autograft harvest.
Soft tissue repair for tibialis anterior tendon ruptures using plate and screw fixation technique in combination with anterolateral thigh flaps transplantation
TLDR
Soft tissue repair for tibialis anterior tendon rupture using plate and screw fixation technique in combination with anterolateral thigh flaps transplantation is a feasible technique and yield satisfactory results.
Traumatic rupture of tibialis anterior tendon treated with flexor digitorum longus graft
TLDR
A traumatic rupture of tibialis anterior tendon which was managed surgically with flexor digitorum longus (FDL) graft in an elderly gentleman who was admitted for disabling pain in the anterior aspect of his left ankle and difficulty in walking is reported.
Anatomical Variations of the Tibialis Anterior Tendon Insertion: An Updated and Comprehensive Review
TLDR
The main aim of this review is to present condensed information about the tibialis anterior tendon based on the available literature to compare classification systems and the results of previous studies.
Traumatic avulsion of tibialis anterior following an industrial accident: A case report
Management of Isolated Anterior Tibial Tendon Rupture: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis
TLDR
Results of this systematic review and meta‐analysis suggests that surgical intervention provides better functional outcomes than conservative management, and use of an extensor hallucis longus autograft is not recommended if surgical intervention is performed.
Management of tibialis anterior tendon rupture: Recommendations based on the literature review.
Lower Limb Thrombosis after Tibialis Tendon Tenorrhaphy: Case Report and Literature Review
TLDR
There is a need for further research with deeper assessment of thromboprophylaxis indications and contraindications, given the paucity of high quality studies on the matter.

Surgical Repair of Tibialis Anterior Tendon Rupture
TLDR
Surgical repair of the ruptured tibialis anterior results in restoration of dorsiflexion strength, ankle cosmesis, and return of function, independent of injury acuity.
Reconstruction of Chronic Ruptures of the Distal Biceps Tendon with Use of an Achilles Tendon Allograft
TLDR
Reconstruction of chronic disruptions of the distal biceps tendon with an Achilles tendon allograft appears to offer a satisfactory technical solution for this challenging problem and has provided satisfactory clinical results to date.
Subcutaneous rupture of the tendon of tibialis anterior.
TLDR
There should be no disability after surgical repair and this should be offered to those patients who lead an active life and who present in the first three months after rupture.

TLDR
Tibialis anterior tendon deficit should be included in the differential diagnosis of patients with isolated weakness of foot dorsiflexion, following minor trauma in diabetics older than 45 years of age.

TLDR
The case of a 28-year-old world-class female triathlete who sustained an open laceration of the tibialis anterior tendon from the bicycle chain guard is reported and she became the second European triathlon champion eight months later.
Reconstruction of a Ruptured Patellar Tendon with Achilles Tendon Allograft Following Total Knee Arthroplasty
TLDR
This short-term follow-up study showed that once an Achilles allograft has healed, it can serve as a reliable reconstruction of a ruptured patellar tendon following total knee arthroplasty.
Surgical Technique: Medial Collateral Ligament Reconstruction Using Achilles Allograft for Combined Knee Ligament Injury
TLDR
This technique uses allograft that provides bone-to-bone healing on the femur, requires small incisions, and creates isometric reconstruction, and when performed with a cruciate reconstruction, knee stability can be restored at 2 to 5 years followup.
MRI of tibialis anterior tendon rupture
TLDR
Although rupture of the tibialis anterior tendon is a rarely reported entity, MRI is a useful modality in the definitive detection and characterization of tibia anterior tendon ruptures.
Anterior Tibial Tendon Rupture
Twelve patients with rupture of the anterior tibial tendon are presented. Nine patients were aware of an acute event prior to their symptom onset and three were not aware of any acute event. Complete

TLDR
Thirteen patients who developed 15 ruptured tendons subsequent to injection of a depository steroid in or about the tendons are described, with older patients who had ruptures of the tendon of the long head of the biceps.
