During development of neuronal circuits, presynaptic and postsynaptic functions are adjusted in concert, to optimize interneuronal signaling. We have investigated whether activation of glutamate receptors affects presynaptic function during synapse formation, when constitutive synaptic vesicle recycling is downregulated.
