During the NNM/Maluku Expedition 1996, in the framework of the NNM Fauna Malesiana Marine Program, a shrimp belonging to the species Periclimenes imperator Bruce, 1967, was found on a nudibranch while diving at 20 m depth in Seri Bay, on the south coast of Ambon. Periclimens imperator has been recorded throughout the tropical Indo-West Pacific, from East Africa and the Red Sea to Hawaii, from nudibranch and holothurian hosts.
