We study chiral symmetry aspects of the positive and negative parity baryons by identifying them with linear representations of the chiral group SU (N f ) ⊗ SU (N f ). It is shown that there are two distinct schemes: those possessing naive and mirror assignments. We construct linear sigma models for baryons in the two assignments and examine their physical implications. Then we investigate properties of the naive and mirror nucleons microscopically by using QCD interpolating fields. Finally, we…
Baryon parity doublets and chiral spin symmetry
The chirally symmetric baryon parity-doublet model can be used as an effective description of the baryon-like objects in the chirally symmetric phase of QCD. Recently it has been found that above the
Probing Chiral Symmetry of Nucleons by Threshold ηπ Production
Double meson production of eta and pi mesons in the threshold region is investigated in order to determine chiral properties of the nucleon. The eta can be used as a probe for the negative parity
Three-flavor chiral effective model with four baryonic multiplets within the mirror assignment
We study three-flavor octet baryons by using the so-called extended Linear Sigma Model (eLSM). Within a quark-diquark picture, the requirement of a mirror assignment naturally leads to the
Casimir effect for nucleon parity doublets
Finite-volume effects for the nucleon chiral partners are studied within the framework of the parity-doublet model. Our model includes the vacuum energy shift for nucleons, which is the Casimir
Chiral Structure of Scalar and Pseudoscalar Mesons
We systematically study the chiral structure of local tetraquark currents of flavor singlet and . We also investigate their chiral partners, including scalar and pseudoscalar tetraquark currents of
A SIMPLE TOY MODEL FOR EFFECTIVE RESTORATION OF CHIRAL SYMMETRY IN EXCITED HADRONS
A simple solvable toy model exhibiting effective restoration of chiral symmetry in excited hadrons is constructed. A salient feature is that while physics of the low-lying states is crucially

Field theories with « Superconductor » solutions
SummaryThe conditions for the existence of non-perturbative type « superconductor » solutions of field theories are examined. A non-covariant canonical transformation method is used to find such
Quantum Theory of Fields
To say that this is the best book on the quantum theory of fields is no praise, since to my knowledge it is the only book on this subject. But it is a very good and most useful book. The original was
The axial vector current in beta decay
SummaryIn order to derive in a convincing manner the formula of Goldberger and Treiman for the rate of charged pion decay, we consider the possibility that the divergence of the axial vector current
