  • Summary Fifth and sixth grade children were presented CCC trigram: digit pairs (e.g., XZF: 1) for either 2, 4, 6, or 10 paired-asociate (PA) trials. These Ss were observed to have selected the first letters of trigrams after only 2 PA trials. In addition, the relative incidence of single-letter selection (cue selection efficiency) decreased as degree of PA learning increased.
