The correlation of chest circumference with birth weight was plotted in Harare Maternity Hospital Zimbabwe on 115 neonates. Chest circumference was measured to the nearest 9.1 cm at the level of the xiphisternum and below the inferior angle of the scapula. Birth weights were taken from medical records. The mean chest circumference was 30.1 cm and the mean birth weight was 2509.9 gm.
