We verify the consistency of the Godel-type solutions within the four-dimensional Chern-Simons modified gravity with the non-dynamical Chern-Simons coefficient, for different forms of matter including dust, fluid, scalar field and electromagnetic field, and the related causality issues. Unlike the general relativity, the vacuum solution turns out to be possible in our theory. Another essentially new result of our theory having no analogue in the general relativity consists in the existence of…

The origin of Chern-Simons modified gravity from an 11 + 3-dimensional manifold
It is our aim to show that the Chern-Simons terms of modified gravity can be understood as generated by the addition of a 3-dimensional algebraic manifold to an initial 11-dimensional space-time
Thermodynamics of massless particles in curved spacetime
This work is devoted to study the behavior of massless particles within the context of curved spacetime. In essence, we investigate the consequences of the scale factor C(η) of the
Violation of causality in f(T) gravity
In the standard formulation, the f(T) field equations are not invariant under local Lorentz transformations, and thus the theory does not inherit the causal structure of special relativity. Actually,
Lagrangian formalism for Rastall theory of gravity and Gödel-type universe
In the Rastall gravity a non-minimal coupling between geometry and matter fields is considered. Then the usual energy-momentum tensor conservation law is not valid. Here a Lagrangian formalism is
Homogeneous Gödel-type solutions in hybrid metric-Palatini gravity
The hybrid metric-Palatini $$f({\mathscr {R}})$$f(R) gravity is a recently devised approach to modified gravity in which it is added to the metric Ricci scalar R, in the Einstein–Hilbert Lagrangian,
Quasinormal modes of Schwarzschild black holes in projective invariant Chern-Simons modified gravity
We generalize the Chern-Simons modified gravity to the metric-affine case and impose projective invariance by supplementing the Pontryagin density with homothetic curvature terms which do not spoil
Gödel-type solutions in cubic Galileon gravity
We address the homogeneous in space and time (ST-homogeneous) G\"{o}del-type metrics within the cubic galileon theory, a particular class of generalized galileon theories. We check the consistency of

On transgression forms and Chern-Simons (super)gravity
A transgression form is proposed as lagrangian for a gauge field theory. The construction is first carried out for an arbitrary Lie Algebra g and then specialized to some particular cases. We exhibit
