THE success which has attended the inauguration *o of the Indian Science Congress, and the great increase in the amount of new work in chemistry which has occurred in the Indian Empire during the past ten years, has led to the establishment of an Indian Chemical Society, under the presidency of Sir P. C. Ray, with offices at 92 Upper Circular Road, Calcutta; the first number of the Quarterly Journal of the Society has now appeared.
