The crude extracts of the Madagascan soft corals Sinularia vanderlandi and Sinularia gravis (Alcyoniidae) showed activity against Plasmodium falciparum which led us to study their chemical constituents. The new cadinane-type sesquiterpenoid vanderlandin (1) has been obtained from S. vanderlandi along with 24-methylenecholesterol (2). Four new compounds, the spatane-type diterpenoid gravilin (3), the monoalkylmonoacylglycerol 4, the dihomoditerpenoid ketone 5, and isodecaryiol (9), along with…

Isolation and structure elucidation of natural products of three soft corals and a sponge from the coast of Madagascar.
The extracts of all three soft corals exhibited moderate activities against the malarial parasite Plasmodium falciparum and Extracts of the sponge Pseudoceratina arabica proved to be very active against a series of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Terpenoids from the Oleo-Gum-Resin of Boswellia serrata and Their Antiplasmodial Effects In Vitro.
In the course of our ongoing search for new natural products as leads against protozoal diseases, the dichloromethane extract of Indian frankincense, the oleo-gum-resin obtained from Boswellia
Chemical Diversity and Biological Activity of Secondary Metabolites from Soft Coral Genus Sinularia since 2013
The structures, names, and pharmacological activities of compounds isolated from the genus Sinularia from 2013 to March 2021 are summarized in this review.

Anti-inflammatory cembranoids from the soft corals Sinularia querciformis and Sinularia granosa.
Four new cembranoids, querciformolides A-D (1-4), along with two known cembraceoids, 7 and 8, have been isolated from the soft coral Sinulariaquerciformis and significantly inhibited the accumulation of the pro-inflammatory iNOS and COX-2 proteins in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophage cells.
Asteriscane-type sesquiterpenoids from the soft coral Sinularia capillosa.
This is the first report of asteriscane-type sesquiterpenoids from soft corals, and capillosananes Q (17) and R (18) represent new seco-asteriscane skeletons.
Diterpenes from the Hainan soft coral Lobophytum cristatum Tixier-Durivault.
The present work supports Faulkner's proposal of prenylgermacrene as the precursor of many diterpenes and the absolute configurations of lobophytumins A, B, and D-F were also tentatively suggested.
Studies of Australian Soft Corals. XXXX.1 The Natural Products Chemistry of Alcyonacean Soft Corals with Special Reference to the Genus Lobophytum
The eggs of the alcyonacean soft coral Lobophytum microlobulatum contain the known cembranoid diterpene 3,4-epoxynephthenol (9). This compound was not detected in the soft coral colony from which the
Cembranoid Diterpenes Related to Sarcophytol A From the Soft Coral Sarcophyton trocheliophorum (Alcyonacea)
An investigation of metabolites from the soft coral Sarcophyton trocheliophorum collected at North East Reef, Orpheus Island, has yielded three simple cembranoid diterpenes , namely
New cytotoxic cembrane based diterpenes from the soft corals Sarcophyton cherbonnieri and Nephthea sp.
The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by employing spectroscopic techniques (NMR, MS, UV, IR and CD) and were found to be cytotoxic towards several tumor cell lines.
Cembrane diterpenes from the southern African soft coral Cladiella kashmani.
Two known cembrane diterpenes, flaccidoxide (1) and (1Z,3E,7E,11S, 12S,14S)-11,12-epoxy cembra-1,3,7-trien-14-ol (2), and the new cembrane diterpene flaccidoxide-13-acetate (3) were isolated from
Several new isoprenoids from the soft coral sinularia erecta
Eight compounds were isolated from the Indo-Pacific soft coral Sinularia erecta collected from the lagoon of Mayotte, Comoros Islands, northwest of Madagascar by means of 1D and 2D NMR and MS spectroscopy in addition to some chemical transformations.
