The southeast of Italy is characterized by the presence of some highly phytogeographically relevant taxa with a Balkan-Aegean distribution. Three of these taxa, Campanula versicolor, Carum multiflorum and Scrophularia lucida, characterize the chasmophytic vegetation in central-southern Apulia (Serre Salentine and Bassa Murgia). Chasmophytic vegetation has already been referred to the Onosmetalia frutescentis order and to its only alliance Campanulion versicoloris, which are syntaxa with mainly…

Leontodon and Scorzoneroides (Asteraceae, Cichorieae) in Italy
TLDR
Apart from a discussion of changes in nomenclature and taxon delimitation, identification keys are presented to distinguish between the genera Leontodon and Scorzoneroides, and to identify their Italian members.
SOME PHYTOSOCIOLOGICAL STUDIES OF CHASMOPHYTES AND EDIPHYTES OF LAHORE CITY
A phytosociological Survey of chasmophytes and ediphytes of Lahore city was carried out during Dec. 2009 to Nov. 2010. Twenty stands of chasmophytic vegetation at different locations of the city were

The status of the genus Campanula L. (Campanulaceae) in southeast-European, circum-Adriatic and west Balkan countries is discussed, according to the local checklists, recent nomenclature and research.
The importance of closely related taxa for the delimitation of phytosociological units
TLDR
Closely related taxa used in the phytosociology will not show any new criteria for delimitation of vegetation units, but often increase the number of characteristic components and actual limits of a given unit become better documented and more ecological information will be gathered.

Studies in the Melica ciliata – complex: 1. Distribution of allozyme variation within and among individuals, populations and geographic regions

TLDR
Allozyme variation in 83 European populations of the Melica ciliata/ transsilvanica species complex has been investigated and it was suggestive that some, e.g. the group containing all populations from the disjunct distribution in the Baltic basin, have been formed by introgression between the three major groups, whereas other deviating populations may represent additional distinct entities.
Microtopographic control of vascular plant, bryophyte and lichen communities on cliff faces
TLDR
It is suggested that distinct subcommunities of vegetation exist on cliff faces and correlate with fine scale differences in microtopography.

Braun-Blanquet's legacy and data analysis in vegetation science
TLDR
All the ordination methods that are commonly used, for example, Principal Components Analysis and all variants of Correspondence Analysis as well as standard cluster analyses such as Ward's method and group average clustering, are inappropriate when using AD data and the application of ordinal clustering and scaling methods to traditional phytosociological data is advocated.
