Chasmophytic vegetation of the class Asplenietea trichomanis in south-eastern Italy
@article{Terzi2008ChasmophyticVO, title={Chasmophytic vegetation of the class Asplenietea trichomanis in south-eastern Italy}, author={Massimo Terzi and Francesco Saverio D’Amico}, journal={Acta Botanica Croatica}, year={2008}, volume={67}, pages={147-174} }
The southeast of Italy is characterized by the presence of some highly phytogeographically relevant taxa with a Balkan-Aegean distribution. Three of these taxa, Campanula versicolor, Carum multiflorum and Scrophularia lucida, characterize the chasmophytic vegetation in central-southern Apulia (Serre Salentine and Bassa Murgia). Chasmophytic vegetation has already been referred to the Onosmetalia frutescentis order and to its only alliance Campanulion versicoloris, which are syntaxa with mainly…

The importance of closely related taxa for the delimitation of phytosociological units
- BiologyVegetatio

Closely related taxa used in the phytosociology will not show any new criteria for delimitation of vegetation units, but often increase the number of characteristic components and actual limits of a given unit become better documented and more ecological information will be gathered.

- Environmental SciencePlant Systematics and Evolution
- 2004
Allozyme variation in 83 European populations of the Melica ciliata/ transsilvanica species complex has been investigated and it was suggestive that some, e.g. the group containing all populations from the disjunct distribution in the Baltic basin, have been formed by introgression between the three major groups, whereas other deviating populations may represent additional distinct entities.

All the ordination methods that are commonly used, for example, Principal Components Analysis and all variants of Correspondence Analysis as well as standard cluster analyses such as Ward's method and group average clustering, are inappropriate when using AD data and the application of ordinal clustering and scaling methods to traditional phytosociological data is advocated.
