We analyze theoretically the influence of domain walls (DWs) on the DC Josephson current in magnetic superconducting Sm/Fl/F/Fl/Sm junctions. The Josephson junction consists of two ”magnetic” superconductors Sm (superconducting film covered by a thin ferromagnetic layer), spin filters Fl and a ferromagnetic layer F with or without DW (DWs). The spin filters Fl allow electrons to pass with one specific spin orientation, such that the Josephson coupling is governed by a fully polarized long-range…

Spin current injection via equal-spin Cooper pairs in ferromagnet/superconductor heterostructures

Equal-spin Cooper pairs are pivotal building blocks for superconducting spintronics devices. In recent experiments unusual behavior was observed in ferromagnet/ferromagnet/superconductor devices when

Ferromagnet–superconductor hybrids

The new class of phenomena described in this review is based on the interaction between spatially separated, but closely located ferromagnets and superconductors, the so-called

Signature of magnetic-dependent gapless odd frequency states at superconductor/ferromagnet interfaces

Scanning tunnelling spectroscopy of Nb superconductor films proximity coupled to epitaxial Ho reveals pronounced changes to the Nb subgap superconducting density of states on driving the Ho through a metamagnetic transition from a helical antiferromagnetic to a homogeneous ferromagnetic state for which a BCS-like gap is recovered.

General boundary conditions for quasiclassical theory of superconductivity in the diffusive limit: Application to strongly spin-polarized systems

Boundary conditions in quasiclassical theory of superconductivity are of crucial importance for describing proximity effects in heterostructures between different materials. Although they have been

Coexistence of superconductivity and magnetism theoretical predictions and experimental results

Abstract Superconductivity and ferromagnetic ordering are two antagonistic types of ordering, and their mutual influence leads to many interesting phenomena which have been studied recently in

Long range spin supercurrents in ferromagnetic CrO2 using a multilayer contact structure

We report measurements of long ranged supercurrents through ferromagnetic and fully spin-polarized CrO2 deposited on TiO2 substrates. In earlier work, we found supercurrents in films grown on

Anisotropic supercurrent due to inhomogeneous magnetization in ferromagnet/superconductor junctions

We investigate transverse charge and spin dc supercurrents in a ferromagnet coupled to a superconductor where the ferromagnet has inhomogeneous magnetic structure. These transverse supercurrents

Spontaneous skyrmion ground states in magnetic metals

It is theoretically shown that skyrmion textures may form spontaneously in condensed-matter systems with chiral interactions without the assistance of external fields or the proliferation of defects, within a phenomenological continuum model based on a few material-specific parameters that can be determined experimentally.
