The T antigen induced by type 12 adenovirus was purified from KB cells infected in the presence of 10(-6)m 5-fluoro-2-deoxyuridine to inhibit synthesis of viral capsid antigens. The antigen was purified approximately 200-fold, and the purified product contained only negligible amounts of host-cell contaminants, as judged by the residual radioactivity from (14)C-labeled uninfected cells which had been added to infected cells at the initiation of the purification.
