The aim of the present study was to characterize the subtype of muscarinic receptor that mediates acetylcholine-induced contractions in the nonpregnant proestrus swine myometrium by means of mechanical, radioligand ([3H]quinuclidinyl benzilate) binding and biochemical (measurement of cyclic AMP) approaches.
