Dioxane lignin prepared from sago palm (Metroxylon sagu) was characterized by analytical pyrolysis coupled to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Large abundances of the p-hydroxybenzoates ester-linked to the lignin were proven by analytical pyrolysis as well as by mild alkaline treatment that produced p-hydroxybenzoic acid in 16.3% yield. Pyrolysis in the presence of tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) before and after alkaline treatment also showed the presence of ester- and ether-linked p… Expand

Relevance between chemical structure and pyrolysis behavior of palm kernel shell lignin.
TLDR
Thermal-stability, evolution behavior of typical volatiles, and selectivity of phenolic compounds (H-, G-, S-, C-type) during PKS lignin pyrolysis were explored and will provide a deep insight to the effective utilization of PKS. Expand
Influence of parameters on pyrolysis-GC/MS of lignin in the presence of tetramethylammonium hydroxide
Abstract Thermally assisted hydrolysis and methylation (THM) with tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) was performed on spruce milled wood lignin (MWL) in order to investigate THM parameters. TheExpand
Structural characterization of lignin isolated from coconut (Cocos nucifera) coir fibers.
TLDR
Evidence that the flavone tricin is incorporated into the coconut coir lignin, as has been recently noted for various grasses is found. Expand
Analytical pyrolysis of lignin: Products stemming from β-5 substructures
Abstract This paper addresses the behavior of β-5 substructures in analytical pyrolysis of lignin. Five phenolic 2-arylcoumarans containing a β-5 linkage, dehydrodiconiferyl alcohol ( I ) and II – VExpand
Pyrolysis of lignin in the presence of tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH): products stemming from beta-5 substructures.
TLDR
The results demonstrated that synthetic lignins are rich in terminal beta-5 substructures, but cedar (a softwood) contains a paucity of the terminal Beta-5 Substructures. Expand
