The fatty acid and triacylglycerol composition of pili nut (Canarium ovatum) oil and fractions were analyzed by gas chromatography and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography, respectively. The oil obtained by solvent extraction was low in polyunsaturated fatty acids and high in saturates. The polyunsaturated fatty acid (18∶2 and 18∶3) contents were less than 11%, whereas palmitic (16∶0) and stearic acid (18∶0) were 33.3 and 10.9%, respectively. The saturated fatty acid level of…
FATTY ACID AND AMINO ACID COMPOSITIONS OF PILI FRUIT (CANARIUM OVATUM) KERNEL
The pili fruit kernel, an under-utilized tropical African fruit kernel, was analyzed for its fatty acid and amino acid compositions. The result revealed a total unsaturated fatty acid composition of

Abstract Polar lipids, including sphingomyelin (SM) and other sphingolipids, have nutritional implications in many important metabolic pathways. Milk and whey are valuable sources of these bioactive
Fatty acid profiles of 80 vegetable oils with regard to their nutritional potential
The current concern for fat intake in western countries has raised the question of the individual fatty acid (FA) impact on health. This important issue has strengthened the awareness of
Triterpenes and Acylglycerols from Canarium ovatum
TLDR
One of the family Burseraceae and locally known as pili is indigenous to the Philippines where the roasted or candied nuts are sold commercially and the oil from the pulp is used for cooking and lighting.

TLDR
The study shows that the relative enrichment of fatty acids in the most polar adipose tissue TAGs is consistent with their relative mobilization rates, which supports the hypothesis and raises the possibility that the molecular species of TAGs might be one of the regulating factors.
