This study examined the influence of temperature, concentration, shearing time, and storage time on the rheological properties, i.e. the dynamic viscosity and shear stress, as a function of shear rate of chitosan solubilized in weakly acid solutions. The results showed that shear thinning behavior (pseudoplastic non-Newtonian behavior) was pronounced at temperatures from 20 to 50 °C, but was more remarkable at lower temperature. In addition, the activation energy value derived from ln h vs. 1/T…

Correction of MHS Viscosimetric Constants upon Numerical Simulation of Temperature Induced Degradation Kinetic of Chitosan Solutions
The goal of the present work is to propose an integration of MHS coefficients for chitosan solutions that contemplate a deacetylation degree for ch itosan systems or a more general substitution degree for polymers in which viscosity depends not only on molecular weight and solvent combinations.
The Effect of Biopolymer Chitosan on the Rheology and Stability of Na-Bentonite Drilling Mud
Adding chitosan improved the natural properties of drilling mud, namely: yield stress, shear thinning, and thixotropy, and the undesirable effects of high solid clay concentration can be avoided.
The Effect of PEGDE Concentration and Temperature on Physicochemical and Biological Properties of Chitosan
PEGDE crosslinked CHT scaffolds showed strong vinculin and integrin 1β expression, which render them suitable for bone contact applications and low surface roughness, in spite of the small reduction in the amount of free amino groups on the surface induced during drying at 150 °C.
Thermal–mechanical behaviour of chitosan–cellulose derivative thermoreversible hydrogel films
AbstractHydrogels are high water content materials prepared by polymer crosslinking that are able to release active species, such as therapeutic, antibacterial, antiperspirant and moisturising
Rheology Properties of Castor Oil: Temperature and Shear Rate-dependenceof Castor Oil Shear Stress
The dynamic viscosity of castor oil was measured as a function of shear rate at different temperature ranged from 1.7°C to 62°C. In this study, shear stress and the dynamic viscosity as a function of
