1. The adenosine receptors from pig kidney proximal tubules have been studied in membrane vesicle preparations derived from either luminal (brush-border membranes-BBM-) or basolateral (BL) sides. There was a substantial amount of A2-like NECA binding in both preparations, but the A1 subtype of adenosine receptors was not found in either BBM or BL membranes.
