The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) produces a staggering amount of data about 30 petabytes annually. One of the largest difficulties in analyzing this data is the analysis of hadronic ”jets” of particles produced by quantum chromodynamic processes. Due to the thresholds that particles must exceed in order to have their data stored, it is not possible to simply add the charges of every particle in a jet to calculate its charge.
