This letter proposes a circuit model capable of predicting the bandwidth and resonance frequency of a well-known artificial magnetic conductor (AMC). The AMC is composed of an array of Jerusalem cross-shaped frequency selective surfaces (FSSs) (JC-FSS) deployed on a thin PEC-backed dielectric slab. The model benefits from the static (Quasi-TEM) closed-form equations, available in literature for the characteristic impedance of microstrip transmission lines.
