Abstract The Proterozoic Kaladgi–Badami and Bhima basins are intracratonic basins occurring over the Archaean Dharwar craton. The Kaladgi–Badami Basin contains arenites, shales and carbonates with minor cherts and conglomerates deposited in continental, transitional and shallow-marine environments presumably during the late Palaeoproterozoic/Mesoproterozoic to Neoproterozoic. The lower part of the succession (Bagalkot Group) is deformed into east–west-trending elongated doubly plunging…

Depositional history and provenance of cratonic “Purana” basins in southern India: A multipronged geochronology approach to the Proterozoic Kaladgi and Bhima basins
Peninsular India is a collage of Archaean cratonic domains separated by Proterozoic mobile belts. A number of cratonic basins, known as “Purana basins” in the Indian literature, formed in different
Interplay Between Tectonics & Eustacy in a Proterozoic Epicratonic, Polyhistory Basin, North Dharwar Craton
The Kaladgi basin of the Dharwar craton is one of the smaller Purana basins of Peninsular India. It hosts two sequences of epicratonic sediments separated by an erosional and angular unconformity;

Abstract The geology, inferred evolution and classification according to widely accepted schemes of 22 basins from the Indian Precambrian record on the Arravali–Bundelkhand, Singhbhum, Bastar and
Aseismic Tectonism-Induced Soft-Sediment Deformation in a Tranquil Palaeogeography: Chikkshelikere Limestone Member, Proterozoic Kaladgi Basin, Southern India

Study of structural, deformation temperature, and strain analysis of the quartzarenites of south-central Kaladgi basin, exposed at and around Mullur ghat and Kallur village of Belgaum district, Karnataka, India
Kaladgi rocks are magnificently exposed in Belgaum district of Karnataka state, with adjacent to Maharashtra, the Kaladgi Basin, evolved as a consequence of crustal extension which are resting on the
Proterozoic Sedimentary Basins of India
Indian Proterozoic geology includes a group of less disturbed and unmetamorphosed platformal sediment packages hosted within cratonic nucleii of Peninsular India and offers scope to study profound
Palaeomagnetism of the uppermost carbonate units of the Purana basins in southern India: new demagnetization results from the Kaladgi and Bhima basins, Karnataka
Abstract Four unconformity-bound sequences can be identified in the Purana successions in southern India, of which the third sequence (Sequence III) has the widest distribution. Sequence III contains
Chapter 1 Precambrian basins of India: stratigraphic and tectonic context
The Indian shield represents a vast repository of the Precambrian geological record. The Precambrian sedimentary basins were developed on four major Archaean nuclei (Dharwar, Bastar, Singhbhum and
