Channel-based Architecture for Dynamically Reconfigurable Networks

Abstract

Agent technology is often suggested as a tool for developing software that is more adaptive in the face of changes in its environment. In agent-based approaches, complex automated systems are built from components that communicate with each other. To enable adaptive behaviour, both the components themselves and the communication architecture should be easily changeable. This paper presents the common hybrid agent platform (CHAP) that enables dynamic reconfiguration of networks composed of small agents that may be changing themselves.
