Ethylene pressure has been used to control the competition between isomerization (chain walking) and monomer insertion processes for ethylene coordination polymerization catalyzed by a palladium-alpha-diimine catalyst. The topology of the polyethylene varies from linear with moderate branching to "hyperbranched" structures.
