Abstract A detailed centrifugal distortion analysis of the rotational spectrum of cyclopropenylidene C 3 H 2 has been deduced from its millimeter wave spectrum. C 3 H 2 , a ring molecule recently discovered by Thaddeus and co-workers, has been efficiently produced by a very weak rf discharge in allene, C 3 H 4 . Fractional abundance as high as one percent has been obtained, which is explained by the long lifetime of the molecule, measured to be about 300 ms at 30 mTorr.
