Vasculitis is inflammation of blood vessel walls, which produces dysfunction in both the peripheral and central nervous system (CNS). Cerebral ischemia is the major cause for neurological manifestations of CNS vasculitis. Unfortunately, a universally accepted classification of vasculitis has not emerged.
