Polyallylamine, which is cationic and enhances cell adhesion electrostatically (non-specifically), was co-immobilized with a cell growth factor, insulin, onto a surface-hydrolysed poly(methyl methacrylate) membrane. The adhesion of mouse STO fibroblast cells was accelerated by the immobilization of polyallylamine.
