Recently, the demonstration of the presence of cell-free fetal mRNA in maternal plasma has opened up new possibilities for noninvasive prenatal assessment. This original study aimed to confirm the stability of C21orf105 and PLAC4 mRNA in maternal plasma, and explored whether plasma C21orf105 and PLAC4 mRNA levels are likely to be associated with fetal trisomy 21.
