Abstract

Synthetic dioctahedral white micas (muscovite-phengite, margarite, and paragonite) were investigated by X-ray diffraction and infrared methods. Correlation of cell dinension (D dimension was the most useful) with infrared spectra suggests that the variations in size are due to ordering in the micas.
