Twenty-seven episodes of gonorrhea occurring in children less than 15 years of age were treated with an intramuscular injection of cefuroxime, 25 mg/kg. Gonococci were eliminated from genital, pharyngeal, and anal sites in all cases. Cefuroxime was well tolerated and no side effects were observed.
