In this paper, we present a narrow bandwidth source at the telecom wavelength based on type II PPKTP crystal inside an optical cavity. Simultaneous resonances of the pump and the two down-converted fields are achieved by special design of the cavity. This is a triple resonances optical parametric oscillator (OPO) far below threshold, which generates photon pairs at around 1560 nm with a bandwidth of 8 MHz. A coherence time of 27.7 ns is estimate by a time correlation measurement, and the…

Waveguide-based OPO source of entangled photon pairs
In this paper, we present a compact source of narrow-band energy–time-entangled photon pairs in the telecom regime based on a Ti-indiffused periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) waveguide
Generation of narrow-band polarization-entangled photon pairs for atomic quantum memories.
An experimental realization of a narrow band polarization-entangled photon source with a linewidth of 9.6 MHz through cavity-enhanced spontaneous parametric down-conversion with fidelity of 94% and coherence length directly measured to be 32 m.
A High-Brightness Source of Narrowband, Identical-Photon Pairs
We generated narrowband pairs of nearly identical photons at a rate of 5 × 104 pairs per second from a laser-cooled atomic ensemble inside an optical cavity. A two-photon interference experiment
Statistics of narrow-band single photons for quantum memories generated by ultrabright cavity-enhanced parametric down-conversion.
This Letter reports on the generation of photons with 3 MHz linewidth by cavity-enhanced parametric down-conversion and demonstrates direct proof of their single-photon character by detection of heralding idler photons.
Time-bin-modulated biphotons from cavity-enhanced down-conversion.
We have generated a new type of biphoton state by cavity-enhanced down-conversion in a type-II phase-matched, periodically poled KTiOPO4 crystal. By introducing a weak intracavity birefringence, we
Telecommunication-wavelength solid-state memory at the single photon level.
The storage and retrieval of weak coherent light fields at telecommunication wavelengths in a solid based on photon echoes with controlled reversible inhomogeneous broadening is demonstrated for the first time at the single photon level.
Theory of biphoton generation in a single-resonant optical parametric oscillator far below threshold
We present a quantum-theoretical treatment of biphoton generation in single-resonant type-II parametric down-conversion. The nonlinear medium is continuously pumped and is placed inside a cavity
Cavity Enhanced Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion for the Prolongation of Correlation Time between Conjugate Photons
By resonating both fields of the spontaneous parametric down-conversion with an optical cavity, the bandwidth of the fields is reduced to a level that can be resolved by photodetectors. This enables
A semiconductor source of triggered entangled photon pairs
This work demonstrates triggered photon pair emission from single quantum dots suggestive of polarization entanglement by tuning the splitting to zero, and suggests that a triggered entangled photon pair source could be implemented by a simple semiconductor light-emitting diode.
Laser phase and frequency stabilization using an optical resonator
We describe a new and highly effective optical frequency discriminator and laser stabilization system based on signals reflected from a stable Fabry-Perot reference interferometer. High sensitivity
