We examined the effects of norepinephrine (NE), isoproterenol (ISO) and metaproterenol (MP) on natural killer (NK) cell cytolytic activity and on the protein and mRNA levels of the regulatory factors perforin and granzyme B and interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) in splenocytes. NE, the beta-adrenergic agonist ISO, and the beta 2-selective-agonist MP all inhibited the protein and mRNA levels of perforin, granzyme B and mRNA levels of IFN-gamma.
