Catalytic partial oxidation (CPO) is considered to be a promising route to produce synthesis gas from methane. In this work cobalt supported on CeO2−Al2O3 nanocomposites calcined at temperatures ranging from 1173 K to 1473 K have been characterized and tested in a lab-scale reactor. The characterization techniques applied have been N2 adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), temperatureprogrammed reduction (TPR) and H2 chemisorption. The activity testing has been done at three different… Expand

Catalytic partial oxidation of CH4 to H2 over cobalt catalysts at moderate temperatures
Abstract Catalytic partial oxidation (CPO) of methane has been investigated over Co/Al 2 O 3 catalysts with different metal (0.1 wt.% of Ni, Pt, Rh, Ru or Pd) and oxide ( 3 O 4 /Cr 2 O 3 , La 2 O 3 ,Expand
Modified cobalt catalysts in the partial oxidation of methane at moderate temperatures
Abstract Cobalt on alumina catalysts were prepared and tested in the partial oxidation of methane using dry feed at moderate gas temperatures (700–973 K) and atmospheric pressure. The effect ofExpand
Comparative study of selected catalysts for methane partial oxidation
Catalytic partial oxidation of methane (CPO) is an interesting alternative to the conventional steam methane reforming (SMR) for synthesis gas production. The obtained synthesis gas has the properExpand
Partial oxidation of methane to synthesis gas on Rh/ZrxCe1−xO2–Al2O3
Abstract A series of Zr x Ce 1− x O 2 –Al 2 O 3 ( x  = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 1) nanocomposites were prepared through a citric acid mediated route. The thermal stability of these materials was investigated byExpand
Partial Oxidation of Methane to Synthesis Gas over Alkaline Earth Metal Oxide Supported Cobalt Catalysts
The partial oxidation of methane to synthesis gas was investigated over the alkaline earth metal oxide supported Co catalysts. Only MgO has proved to be a suitable support. The reaction behavior ofExpand
Syngas production from natural gas via catalytic partial oxidation using ceramic monolith catalyst at short contact time and elevated pressure
Abstract The development of the catalyst suitable for the catalytic partial oxidation (CPOX) of natural gas was investigated for the efficient production of synthesis gas. The catalyst of Rh/CeO2 +Expand
Co/Al2O3 catalysts promoted with noble metals for production of hydrogen by methane steam reforming
Abstract The effect of noble metal addition on the catalytic properties of Co/Al 2 O 3 was evaluated for the steam reforming of methane. Co/Al 2 O 3 catalysts were prepared with addition of differentExpand
Direct partial oxidation of methane to synthesis gas by cerium oxide
The gas–solid reaction between methane and cerium oxide (CeO2) directly produced a synthesis gas with H2/CO ratio of 2. The addition of Pt black remarkably accelerated the formation rates of H2and COExpand
Conversions of Methane to Synthesis Gas over Co/γ-Al2O3 by CO2 and/or O2
The goal of the paper was to investigate the effect of the catalyst precursor on the catalytic activity. For this reason, the structure, the reducibility and the reaction behavior ofExpand
RUTHENIUM PROMOTION OF FISCHER-TROPSCH SYNTHESIS OVER COPRECIPITATED COBALT/CERIA CATALYSTS
Abstract A reduced co-precipitate of cobalt and cerium oxides has been found to be selective for production of lower alkenes and higher n-alkanes from syngas, with the advantage of low (ca. 1 wt.-%)Expand
