The catalytic spectrophotomtric reaction studied is based on the catalytic effect etching on the oxidation of the reaction have been found. Under optimal conditions the calibration graphs show rectlinear for 0.5-4×10 -9 g/25ml of Cu(II) with relative standard (11 replicate determinations) of 3.85% at 2×10 -6 g/ml of Cu(II). The influence of the other ions is discussed. The methed has been applied to the direct determination of trace copper in tap water and mineral water.
