The prevalence of smartphones presents a unique opportunity to develop a system that can have a significant impact on reducing the annual 400,000 fatalities from pedestrian traffic accidents. This system gives 360 degrees, extended range, NLOS view where both the driver and the pedestrian are warned of a possible collision.
